Our Curriculum
‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’.
Our curriculum has been developed to create children who:
Are inspired learners.
Are good citizens.
Are independent thinkers.
Have enquiring minds.
Are great friends.
This is the philosophy of how we want to work and learn.
As a whole school, we aim to provide a creative, exciting and inspiring topic based curriculum.
Curriculm Topics
Out curriculum is taught under general topic headings. We use a creative and thematic approach to learning that is mapped to the 2014 Primary National Curriculum to ensure comprehensive coverage of national expectations. The curriculum is delivered through learning projects which provide a rich menu of exciting and motivating learning activities that, where possible, make creative links between aspects of our children’s learning. We believe children learn better when they are encouraged to use their imagination and apply their learning to engaging contexts. Our curriculum provides a variety of learning challenges throughout the academic year that require children to solve problems, apply themselves creatively and express their knowledge and understanding effectively across the curriculum.
Each topic begins with a memorable experience and is divided into four stages –
Engage
Develop
Innovate
Express
Each stage provides opportunities for children to learn and respond in a variety of ways, keeping projects flexible and able to follow children’s interests and needs.
How it Works?
Children will progress through four stages of learning in each learning project – Engage, Develop, Innovate and Express.
